The Reserved List is a specialized compilation of Magic: The Gathering cards, meticulously curated by Wizards of the Coast, that are never to be reprinted. This ensures their value and rarity in the secondary market. Established in 1996, the Reserved List has been revised in 2002 and 2010, with the aim of keeping specific cards as collectible and valuable as possible.

Key Points:

Definition: Cards on the Reserved List will never be reprinted in a functionally identical form. This means the card type, subtypes, abilities, mana cost, power, and toughness have to remain unchanged.
Applicability: The policy applies to both English and non-English cards, and only to tournament-legal Magic cards in printed form. Digital cards in Magic Online or MTG Arena are not affected.
History: The list was initially created after protests from the Magic community over card devaluation due to reprints. Its guidelines have evolved over the years to balance both collectibility and gameplay value.
